Thankful

With such busy lives, sometimes it’s easy to lose sight of what’s important and take things for granted. Now that the holidays are here, I’ve taken some time to think about my life. I have realized I have a lot to be thankful for. This season alone, I have become engaged to the love of my life and discovered I will graduate in December.

I am so thankful for my wonderful fiancé, Joey. We have been together since our junior year in high school. Before then, we were friends, and I can remember watching “Forrest Gump” at his house in middle school. I was lucky to find him so early in life. We love to hike, ride bikes, and watch our favorite sports teams. We are now preparing to graduate from college and are in the beginning stages of planning our wedding. We are looking forward to starting our lives together. I am so excited and couldn’t be happier.

I am thankful for my family. My mother and I are close and she always supports me in whatever I do. When I need her, I know she is only a phone call away. As for the rest of my family, we often communicate via Facebook, and constantly comment on and like one another’s statuses. We are able to stay connected and close even when we are miles apart. Throughout life’s ups and downs, my family has always been by my side. I know I can always count on them.

Along with my family, I am thankful for my best friend, Sam. We met the first day of 6th grade and have remained close ever since. She and I have opposite personalities, and some people even refer to us as yin and yang. I am more reserved while she isn’t afraid to get loud. Our unique combination has worked for us, and I know we will always be friends.

I am thankful for my pets. They help keep me sane. I have a dog named Ellie, a cat named Eddee, and a horse named Lucky. I got Lucky on my 9th birthday, and he was a spunky 5 year old.. Now I’m 23 and he is 19. It’s hard to believe how quickly time flies. I am grateful to have him in my life. Some of my best memories are from the barn. My cat, Eddee was born there. I can remember holding her before her eyes were open. She is the sweetest, most loving cat I could ask for. Eddee has welcomed my dog, Ellie, into the household. They are best friends and can often be found snuggling. Ellie is a happy little dog who I rescued from a local vet’s office. I am glad to have found such a loyal companion. I can always count on my pets to brighten my day and put a smile on my face.

Along with becoming engaged, I am quickly approaching another life milestone. This December, I will graduate from WVU with my RBA, and I am SO thankful to obtain my degree. I have worked hard in school and look forward to entering the workforce. I am anxious to see what the future has in store for me, and with a supportive fiancé, family, and group of friends by my side, I am confident it will be positive.

All in all, there are countless other things I am thankful for, like being an American, our troops, and my health, but this post has a word limit!
