Addicted to Instant Gratification

We have become a nation of urgency.  Our lives are so busy the only way to fit more in is to complete task faster, with more accuracy, and multi-task.  I did not realize just how impatient we are becoming.  I was shocked to think that a person would have their mobile device within arms reach 14 hours a day.  Then I considered my own life.  On weekdays, my cell phone is within arms reach more than 14 hours a day.  I sleep with it beside my bed at night even.  I think it is an addiction to instant gratification that has caused this, as stated in the video it generally takes 90 minutes for response time to an email while only 90 seconds response time for a text message.  It is this instant gratification that is causing me to keep the phone so close at hand.  I can answer emails as quickly as they come in, instead of the work piling up and having to face it all Monday morning.  Businesses need to consider this instant gratification and urgency needed in our lives.  When you consider 70% of mobile searches lead to action within 1 hour,  it only stands to reason that businesses want to be the first on that search list, and should be actively trying to use mobile marketing to gain added revenue.
