The one fact that I found interesting from the you tube video is that there are more mobile phones in the world than people. Seriously? Who owns all of these phones and how is that even possible? I don't know a single person that has more than one phone, so I find this really strange.
The video really said a lot to me. As in, the world is much too dependent on technology and the need for instant information. I understand that mobile phones have cut down the response time for messaging, but you know what, sometimes I just don't want to answer right away. That's one of my pet peeves, people who are in a hurry and think that you should be too.
As far as people having their mobile phones nearby for 14 hours a day, that is just plain ridiculous! People need to learn to unplug themselves and have some quiet, non-electric time. Society has become obsessed with being "up to the minute", as if there is a prize for being the first to know/post/share information. I long for the good old days when having a conversation required actual face to face contact.
