Slow and Steady Wins the Race? Not Anymore!

I found many elements of this video to be surprising. For instance, I was amazed to learn mobile devices outnumber people globally, and the average teen sends over 3,000 texts each month!

All in all, mobile devices have drastically changed our lives, and the world is now literally at our fingertips. Due to this, society now demands quick and easy access to products via their mobile devices. To satisfy customers, many businesses have created mobile applications. Companies that do not step up to the plate and deliver risk being left behind. If a business desires success, they will have to feature sites and applications that are compatible with mobile devices. Thanks to cellphones, customers are able to make fast, informed decisions that can greatly impact a business’s sales. As the video states, "70% of mobile searches lead to action in one hour." With such advanced and useful features, people are becoming more reliant on their phones each day.

Last week, I was at Best Buy shopping for a birthday gift. I hoped to surprise my fiancĂ© with a radar detector, and I wanted to find a reasonably priced, yet effective model. I was disappointed by Best Buy’s in-store selection. They only had two radars in stock. Frustrated, I used my iPhone to open my Best Buy application to compare their online models, find prices, and read reviews. On the app, I found the two radars the store had in-stock, and based on my findings, decided they were unsatisfactory. Furthermore, I used my Amazon mobile application to investigate models Best Buy did not offer. All of this only took a matter of minutes, and was done standing in the isle of Best Buy. With little time wasted, I was able to make an informed decision. My experience showcases the amazing benefits of when a business becomes mobile-friendly.
