- Climate- There is only two seasons in St Augustine: warm and dry (November through April) and hot and wet (May through October.) Seriously, I can live with that.
- The beach- need I say more?
- Activities- other than the beach, there are so many things to do from The Alligator Farm, Putt Putt golf, shopping, boating, fishing, famers markets, plus all sorts of seasonal things.
- Culture- this place is the oldest continuously occupied city in the continental United States. It’s been occupied by the Spanish and the English. It’s where the Fountain of Youth is located. There has been so much stuff that’s happened that I could summarize all of it.
- Jobs-There are better opportunities for employment. With all of the jobs actually IN the city, Jacksonville is less than an hour away.
- Atmosphere- Just the atmosphere is worth the move. Everything and everyone is laid back and friendly. The city is so clean that it’s a bit crazy. I swear, we didn’t see even a cigarette butt except for once in a Wendy’s parking lot.
- Food Selection- There is a better selection of dining out. We ate so much good food. Thankfully, there were so many activities, that I only gained a couple of pounds that week!
- Better opportunities for my child.- There are so many things, including awesome schools. I’m sure there are so many scholarship opportunities that it’s outrageous. The Alligator Farm has summer day camp. Plus, she was just all over better behaved and happy while we were there.
- Everything is closer together. Everything seems so centrally located.
- Never have to go on a summer vacation! The closest thing to a vacation would be coming back home to WV to visit family.
I know that West Virginia has great
things to offer also. I just have such a draw to this place. How about any of
you? Have you ever gone somewhere and just fell so in love with it?
