The importance of keeping up with technology advancements

I found this to be the most mind blowing statistic out of the entire video. Businesses are aware of how powerful mobile devices are and how they are rapidly growing. So my question is, why do they not spend more money on it! Some small businesses could flourish and become successful if they took that extra step and became mobile. By going mobile they could reach a large audience of people in a quick and efficient manner. In my opinion I think mobile advertising should be what businesses focus most of their attention on. Most people will use their phone to make decisions or find information about products and if companies fail to go mobile their voice will be left unheard. Also by going mobile businesses have a great way to hear what the consumer has to say about their product. Some people don’t feel comfortable complaining or praising a product to the company directly, but they will gladly leave comments on social media or by rating the product or service through an app. I know personally I would be more likely to go to a business that has an app and continue to go to that business. It is important for businesses to have an app so that people can learn everything about the business by a touch of their finger. Literally everything they need to about a business could be with them at all times. That way consumers will know how to reach the business or about any promotions going on. They will always know what’s going on with the business which would make them more likely to stay involved. For example, I love that Orbitz has an app because it makes booking a trip and checking the price for flights that much easier. I also was able to get quick customer service through their twitter account. Within ten minutes of tweeting a customer service representative was in contact with me trying to resolve my problem. Normally you would have to spend a great deal of time on hold on the phone trying to get your problem solved. By going mobile businesses can resolve issues for multiple people at once. Overall there are many benefits to businesses going mobile. It may be time consuming and expensive, but in the long run it is well worth it. Hopefully more businesses will start to put more investment towards going mobile. I think in the future it will be impossible for a business to survive if they fail to realize the importance of going mobile!
