The Mobile Generation

In taking a look at this short YouTube video by Eric Qualman  http://youtu.be?GRiwUCXPo8U, I was amazed to find out the many different facts about the mobile society.  How could more people own a mobile than a toothbrush?  This fact although it is true, it’s quite gross.  Other stunning facts are that iPhone sales outnumber births and that companies spend only 1% on mobile.  I would have thought it would have been much more.

I am guilty of checking my phone during dinner and texting instead of sending an email because it’s so much faster.  When I need to perform a search for something, I would much rather do it on my mobile device that going to the computer to do it.  We are surely a mobile society through and through.

Companies will be left behind if they are not up to date with mobile websites and the proper tools to keep up with this digital world.  Everywhere you go, you see people with their phones out.  I have often tried to keep from checking my Facebook page or my text messages during dinner or other times that we really should try to refrain from it.  It is quite addictive in fact.  You can constantly stay connected to what is going on in the world around you.

If people in the business world can’t keep up with the ever-changing technology then I feel they are in a sinking ship.  It changes so much and so fast, the cost will probably rise for companies to keep up.  However, it will be worth it in the end.
